Drunk drivers offered free cremation in Florida

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (Reuters) -- A Florida mortician hoping to scare tipplers from driving drunk has extended a grim New Year's offer -- free cremation if drinkers die behind the wheel.

The offer is good through Jan. 4 and includes a car-, truck- or motorcycle-shaped urn to hold the ashes, Bill Curren, owner of Forest Lawn Cremation, said on Wednesday.
